This week finds us starting an Alabama History project (small one) and continuing in the text.  On Chapter 6 for Reconstruction, the chapter review will serve as a quiz, and the test will be open book.

English has us working on a writing project about the Middle Ages with character and setting, a good use of adjectives which we will continue to study.

There will not be a spelling list this week.  We are going to do Vocabulary Unit 15 starting on Wednesday, the only words they have to spell are those 12.

In Religion we will continue to work on the 5th commandment, moving on into the 6th and 9th which we will do together.

Math will be a continuation of division, while some students will start factoring.

We will be reading a story of Martin L. King, Jr.

     I would like to thank you for the opportunity to teach your children this year.  Next year I will not be teaching and instead, will be working on regaining my health, tutoring, exercising and writing.  I have been teaching 20 years, got a late start when in my late 30′s, and it has been a blessing.  Now, however, I feel that I need a little time to work on other pursuits.  I considered this and prayed about this for quite some time, since Christmas.  I called Mrs. Duke during Spring Break to let her know of my change in plans.  I know the students will be in good hands next year.  I will see them as I intend to put my name on the sub list.  I have not told them as yet, and will do so tomorrow.  Please let me break the news to them.   Much love and God’s blessings to you and the children.
